Unconscious teenager brought to the ER in a bad condition.
Patient Data
Left temporal bone fracture with displacement caused by a markedly hyperintense foreign body (bullet/fragment) which passed through the brain parenchyma causing brain hemorrhage and finally settling in the right temporal lobe. Multiple foci of intracranial air.
Notice the linear hemorrhagic track from the site of entry to the final resting position of the bullet.
Case Discussion
This case shows a major trauma caused by firearms. The patient was an unfortunate young man who was victim of war in Libya
He passed away shortly after the CT was performed.
