Adamantinomatous craniopharyngioma

Case contributed by Naqibullah Foladi
Diagnosis possible

Presentation

Bulged fontanelle.

Patient Data

Age: 6 months
Gender: Male

There is evidence of complex mass lesion with significant dense calcifications, enhancing soft tissue and cystic components, in the sellar and suprasellar regions. No convincing fatty component.

The third ventricle is compressed resulting in dilatation of the lateral ventricles.

Case Discussion

Features are most likely those of an adamantinomatous craniopharyngioma. An intracranial teratoma is another possibility although most teratomas have some visible calcification.
