Abnormal high T2 and DWI signal (low signal on ADC) in the putamina, caudate nuclei and dorsomedial thalami (hockey stick sign).
Case Discussion
Cerebrospinal fluid was positive for 14-3-3 protein consistent with a diagnosis of Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease.
