Known history of Crohn disease.

Patient Data

Age: 35 years
Gender: Female

An intra-operative finding during right hemicolectomy with "creeping fat" in the terminal ileum.

Case Discussion

The creeping fat sign or wrapping fat refers to the fibrofatty proliferation of the mesenteric tissue adjacent to chronic inflamed bowel loops and has been considered to be a finding characteristic of Crohn disease.
