Crohn's disease with sacroiliac joint ankylosis

Presentation

Acute exacerbation of abdominal pain.

Patient Data

Age: 60 years
Gender: Male

Bilateral sacroiliac joint ankylosis

Terminal ileal mural thickening, and surrounding mesenteric stranding. Small amount of free pelvic fluid. Bilateral sacroiliac ankylosis. 

Case Discussion

This patient had known Crohn's disease and presented with an acute exacerbation. Note the bilateral sacroiliac joint ankylosis due to enteropathic arthritis and the typical terminal ileitis appearance on CT.
