Referred as absent right kidney.

Patient Data

Age: 14 years
Gender: Male

Tc-99m DMSA scan

Nuclear medicine

No radiotracer activity is noted in the region of right kidney. The region of left kidney shows inhomogeneous radiotracer uptake with upper and lower region differences.

Ultrasound showing both kidneys fused on the left and an empty right renal fossa.

Cross fused renal ectopia is an anomaly where the kidneys are fused and located on the same side of the midline.
