Work up for hematuria.

Patient Data

Age: 11 years
Gender: Male

The right kidney is absent in right renal bed, fused to the lower pole of the left kidney, i.e. crossed fused renal ectopia. Both kidneys have an anteriorly rotated hilum. No renal or ureteral stones are noted bilaterally.

Case Discussion

Crossed fused renal ectopia refers to an anomaly where the kidneys are fused and located on the same side, after one of them has crossed the midline.
