Crossed fused renal ectopia

Case contributed by Dr Fakhry Mahmoud Ebouda

Recurrent left renal colic.

Patient Data

Age: 60

The right kidney is not seen within its normal position. It crosses the mid line to be below the left one.

A dense calculus is seen within lower calyx of the left kidney.

Simple hepatic cyst is seen within posterior segment of the right hepatic lobe.

Case Discussion

The hall mark of the case is the renal anomaly where the right kidney is located on the same side of the midline and fused with the left one.

The CT findings are suggestive of crossed fused renal ectopia.
