Cryptococcus meningitis

Presentation

40 year male patient complain of altered sensorium and weakness.

Patient Data

Age: 40 years old
Gender: Male
MRI

Multiple small nodular enhancing lesions seen in the both basal ganglia, midbrain on left side and cerebellum bilaterally. The lesions show blooming on Gradient images, represent internal calcification. Mild perilesional edema is noted surrounding the lesions.

Case Discussion

Patient is known case of cryptococcus meningitis. The CSF findings suggestive of cryptococcus infection. The bilateral basal ganglia involvement is typical.
