The left testis is small in size and seen lying in the left inguinal canal.

Cryptorchidism refers may refer to an undescended testis, ectopic testis, or an atrophic or absent testis. It can be caused by a number of conditions like premature birth, intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR), congenital syndromes like prune belly syndrome, gestational diabetes etc.
