Presentation

6 years old female with previous VP shunt is now presenting with abdominal pain and swelling

Patient Data

Age: 6 years
Gender: Female

 A multi-locular thick enhancing wall abdominal cystic lesion is seen related to the tip of the VP shunt tube within the left anterior lumbar region, just beneath the anterior abdominal wall. The lesion measures about 5.5 X 5 X 3 cm in its main diameters. Mild stranding and thickening of the adjacent peritoneal fat is noted, as well as inflammatory changes of the adjacent left rectus abdominis muscle.
