Cutaneous neurofibromatosis on chest X ray

Presentation

A known patient with neurofibromatosis type I came to the ER with SOB. She has a history of skin manifestations three years ago.

Patient Data

Age: 49
Gender: Female
Modality: X-ray

 Multiple cutaneous and subcutaneous soft tissue masses and nodules of NF type I.

Also osteoporotic vertebrae of the dorsal spine is noted.

Case Discussion

Cutaneous manifestations of NF I could be seen in all radiologic modalities including MRI, CT, Ultrasound and X-ray. This radiographic case is a classic example.
