Presentation
Generalized weakness, malaise and vague abdominal pain. The patient had a history of left nephrectomy and partial colectomy many years ago.
Patient Data
Tiny gallbladder stones.
L4 & L5 first degree degenerative spondylolithesis.
Incidental finding: right gluteal lateral cutaneous exophytic irregular soft tissue mass lesion.
Enlarged right inguinal lymph nodes, the largest measures 1.1cm in short axis.
The patient had MRI study for further evaluation of the gluteal cutaneous lesion
Right gluteal lateral cutaneous exophytic irregular soft tissue mass lesion which measures about 4.3 x 1.4 cm along its maximum axial dimensions, it elicits low signal at T1, isointense / slightly high signal at T2 WI and high signal at STIR WI. No deep extension noted.
Enlarged right inguinal lymph nodes, the largest measures 1.1cm in short axis.
Case Discussion
Punch biopsy from the gluteal mass revealed:
Masses of cells extending throughout the dermis. These masses are formed of large keratinocytes having large atypical nuclei. Few masses show focal central keratinization.
Diagnosis: Squamous cell carcinoma.
