Cystic bronchiectasis in the lower lobes and right middle lobe, with resulting pneumothorax. Air fluid levels in several of the cysts. The patient is being considered for lung transplantation.
Case Discussion
Cystic bronchiectasis is the most severe type of bronchiectasis. The airway takes on a ballooned appearance and the number of bronchial divisions is greatly reduced.
