Cystic dilatation of cystic duct

Abdominal pain - Few days.

Patient Data

Age: about 50 yrs
Gender: Female

GALL BLADDER is partly contracted. It shows diffuse wall edema. No obvious full thickness defect is noted in wall.

Mild pericholecystic fluid is noted. No stone is seen.

Comman bile duct is normal in caliber without calculus.

A cystic lesion ( 28 x 27 mm ) is noted communicating gall bladder neck.

Distal cystic duct is normal.

Case Discussion

Surgical exploration revealed changes of empyema of gall bladder. A cystic lesion was present involving cystic duct. Cholecystectomy was done along with removal of cystic duct cyst.
