Dilated cystic duct stump, measuring 2 cm in diameter, containing multiple stones (size range is 3~5.5 mm).
No intrahepatic biliary dilatation observed. Normal course and caliber of the CBD, with no signal defects. The pancreatic duct is not dilated.
Case Discussion
Features are consistent with dilated cystic duct stump containing multiple stones. Cystic duct stump can dilate and contain stones, due to strictures, retained calculi, tumors, and sphincter of Oddi dysfunction. The incidence of postcholecystectomy cystic duct remnant stones is less than 2.5% 1.
