Patient Data

Age: Child

Volume loss on the left with preservation of the descending aortic silhouette but loss of the upper mediastinal contours. Features are consistent with left upper lobe collapse. 

Bronchiectasis and left upper lobe collapse. 

Case Discussion

A child with known cystic fibrosis and left upper lobe collapse due to mucous plugging. The upper lobe went on to re-expand.
