Download
Info

The pituitary fossa is enlarged and contains a cystic lesion with a fluid-fluid level seen on T2 sagittal images. The infundibulum is displaced to the left. Enhancing tissue surrounds the cyst without nodularity or masses.
Case Discussion
The presence of fluid-fluid level in a cystic pituitary lesion favors a cystic pituitary adenoma over a Rathke cleft cyst 1,2.
No histology is available at this time.
Elevated prolactin may be due to secretion or stalk effect.
