Presentation
Acute non-traumatic posterior knee and calf pain for the last two days. Sudden increase in pain for last 12 hours.
Patient Data
Cystic lesion with thick wall and central calcification in the medial head of the gastrocnemius. The hypoechoic area between gastrocnemius and soleus was not compressible. Abnormal hypoechoic linear areas are also present superficial to distal fibers of the gastrocnemius.
Small Baker's cyst with a neck between the semimembranosus and the medial head of the gastrocnemius.
No popliteal venous thrombosis was noted (not uploaded).
Patient treated for cysticercosis. Pain significantly reduced.
Gastrocnemius cystic lesion reduced. The hypoechoic area between gastrocnemius and soleus has completely regressed. Baker's cyst present.
FU US 30 days after 1st US No pain
Gastrocnemius muscle residual calcification surrounded by hypoechoic area - wall.
Persistent Baker's cyst.
