Multiple rice grain-shaped calcifications are observed diffusely throughout the soft-tissues. Prosthesis in the left hip.

Case Discussion

Rice grain calcifications are elongated, oval-shaped, soft tissue calcifications parallel to the long axis of the muscle, the size of rice grains, and are seen in cysticercosis.

Cysticercosis refers to tissue infection after exposure to eggs of Taenia solium, the pork tapeworm.
