Presentation

Soft-touch painful soft tissue bulge in left orbital medial canthus, epiphora and mild preseptal soft tissue swelling.

Patient Data

Age: 40 years
Gender: Male

Distended and thick wall left side lacrimal sac, preseptal and lacrimal gland soft tissue swelling, thick mucosa and fluid in paranasal sinuses more in ethmoid air cells and left eye temporal deviation are seen.

Case Discussion

The case illustrates the non-contrast MDCT features of dacryocystitis and dacryocystocele in a patient with a history of nasal trauma and left side nasolacrimal duct obstruction. The common cause of dacryocystitis and dacryocystocele is nasolacrimal duct obstruction.
