Small echogenic foci (arrow) indicating calcifications suspicious for DCIS.
Case Discussion
The case illustrates that foci of DCIS are actually visible on high-end ultrasound apparatus with sufficient effort. If the apparatus is good enough dedicated sonographers can find these foci making them amenable to ultrasound-guided biopsy.
This case was sampled under ultrasound guidance confirming the diagnosis of DCIS.
