De Quervain tenosynovitis

Diagnosis almost certain

Presentation

Pain on the radial side of the wrist for the last 3 months. No trauma.

Patient Data

Gender: Female
ultrasound

There is retinacular thickening involving 1st extensor compartment of the wrist. Tendons show thickening distal to the retinacular thickening. There is no vertical septum between abductor pollicis longus and extensor pollicis brevis tendons. Both tendons are intact. There is no tendon sheath effusion. Thickened retinaculum shows hypervascularity.

Case Discussion

A female presented with non-traumatic onset of the radial side wrist pain. The case shows the ultrasound findings of De Quervain tenosynovitis.
