Presentation

Hard lump felt in the abdomen for the past 3 months.

Patient Data

Age: 35 years
Gender: Female
mri

An irregular large soft tissue lesion is noted in the abdominal cavity, prominently at the right iliac fossa and at the umbilical quadrant, showing predominant fat signal intensity and areas of solid soft tissue component showing restricted diffusion.

The lesion displaces the adjacent organs without any invasion.

Case Discussion

The patient underwent surgical resection of the lesion and is a histologically confirmed case of dedifferentiated liposarcoma.

Dedifferentiated liposarcomas are malignant adipocytic soft tissue neoplasms that have progressed from primary or recurrent atypical lipomatous tumors/well-differentiated liposarcomas.
