Left leg pain and swelling for one week.

Patient Data

Age: 30 years

The left femoral vein is distended and non-compressible. No flow is noted with color Doppler.

Case Discussion

Deep venous thrombosis (DVT) is the presence of coagulated blood in a deep vein. Patients often present with pain and swelling. Ultrasonography is the first-line imaging investigation with high sensitivity and specificity.
