The liver is found to be in a normal position and shape, slightly enlarged with hyperechogenicity of the periportal cuffing.
Gallbladder in a normal position, shape, and size with thickened walls. Pancreas, spleen, kidneys, and bladder are normal.
Intra-abdominal free fluid is observed at the perihepatic and perisplenic levels in Morrison's fossa and both iliac fossae, quantified at 33 cc.
Right pleural effusion of approximately 48 cc.
Case Discussion
In the pathophysiology of dengue, extravasation of fluid into the third space is mentioned; patients present with free fluid such as ascites and pleural effusions, although it is not seen in all cases.
