Case contributed by Frank Gaillard
Diagnosis certain

Presentation

Left hemiplegia.

Patient Data

CT brain on admission

ct

Selected axial images from a CT of the brain demonstrate that the right middle cerebral artery is hyperdense and there is loss of normal grey-white matter differentiation in the MCA territory.

CT brain 1 day later

ct

CT one day later at same level shows the vessel being even more hyperdense, due to clot retraction and further low attenuation change in the surrounding brain.
