Swelling and erythema below mandible.

Gender: Female

Apical abscess in the 3-5 and 4-6 teeth in the mandible.

Case Discussion

Periapical lucencies in the setting of tooth destruction and caries are suspicious for dental abscess. In the absence of infective symptoms they can also represent periapical cysts or granulomas.
