Dermoid cyst in orbital cavity

Progressive and painless limitation in adduction of the left eye.

Patient Data

Age: 10 years
Gender: Male

A Well-defined mass lesion height up to 15 mm and axial width up to 15 x 14 mm in the left orbital cavity inferior nasal intraconal interposed and extended within inferior rectus muscle and medial rectus muscle is seen which contains foci of fat and debris and the cyst has an impression on related orbital medial wall. The left eye temporal deviation and thick mucosa in the sphenoid sinus are seen.

Case Discussion

The case illustrates non-contrast MDCT features of a pathology-proved dermoid cyst in the orbital cavity. The dermoid cyst is usually located in orbital preseptal and postseptal cases are relatively rare.
