Presentation
Bilateral proptosis and eyelids puffiness, and blurred vision
Patient Data

There is a relatively large fat-fluid-soft tissue containing mass-like lesion within the pituitary fossa with remarkably enlarged fossa without obvious suprasellar extension but remarkable compression on the pituitary gland. Note also bilateral proptosis and prolapsed enlarged lacrimal glands and a cyst in the right maxillary sinus.
Case Discussion
A fat-fluid-soft tissue density mass-like lesion within pituitary fossa more compatible with a dermoid cyst on requested non-contrast orbital MDCT was incidentally detected in work-up of a patient for proptosis differential. The pituitary fossa dermoid cyst is a rare finding and the best imaging modality for pituitary fossa evaluation is MRI which can be diagnostic in some cases like a dermoid cyst. Compression on the pituitary gland can lead to hyperprolactinemia and also symptoms of pituitary apoplexy.
