Work up for arthrogryposis multiplex congenita. Suspected teratologic hip dysplasia.

Age: 3 days
Gender: Male

Right hip (normal- type Ib)

  • alpha angle:60o

  • beta angle:57o

Left hip (type IIa- physiologically immature)

  • alpha angle:56o

  • beta angle:58o

Case Discussion

Features suggestive of a physiologically immature hip for age on the left (type IIa) and a normal right hip (type Ib) based on the Graf method for ultrasound classification of developmental dysplasia of the hip.
