Age: 70 years
Gender: Female
x-ray

Frontal radiographs of both knee reveal multiple bony projections from the metaphyseal ends of tibia and femora consistent with exostoses. Similar exostoses are also noted involving left iliac bone and left upper femur. No soft tissue component.

Case Discussion

Diaphyseal aclasia is also known as hereditary multiple exostoses characterized by multiple osteochondromas usually from distal femur, proximal tibia, wrist and hands, humerus, ankle, pelvis, and ribs.

Complications include neuro-vascular impingement, fractures and malignant transformation.
