The lower thoracolumbar spine cord is split into two hemicords by a bony septum at the level of upper L1 vertebra. Each hemicord is surrounded by a separate hemisac. Cord reunites below the bony septum level.
Fusion and segmentation anomalies like hemivertebra, butterfly vertebra and bars vertebra noted from T9 level to L2 level.
