Presentation
Past history of trauma.
Patient Data
Multiple tiny foci of blooming are seen along grey-white matter interface in bilateral cerebral hemispheres and body and left side of splenium of the corpus callosum suggestive of hemorrhagic foci.
Case Discussion
The above case demonstrates the importance of GRE sequences where routine T1, T2, FLAIR sequences are unremarkable and GRE shows multiple tiny foci of hemorrhage along grey-white matter interface in bilateral cerebral hemispheres and body, splenium of corpus callosum. Given the history of trauma, no history of hypertension and characteristic location of the hemorrhages, findings are consistent with diffuse axonal injury - grade II.
