Diffuse gallbladder wall thickening - acute hepatitis

Case Discussion
A thickened gallbladder wall (measures more than 3 mm) in conjunction with a diffusely hypoechogenic liver with prominent portal triads (“starry sky” appearance) suggest the diagnosis of acute hepatitis.
In previous reports, the incidence of gallbladder wall thickening in patients with acute hepatitis was 51%. In this patient the HAV IgM antibody test was positive.
