Presentation

Back pain.

Patient Data

Age: 55 years
Gender: Male

Flowing ossification along the right anterolateral aspects of lower thoracic vertebrae was noted. The disc spaces are relatively preserved with intra-discal calcification. No sacroiliitis or facet joint ankylosis. L1 vertebral body hemangiomas.

Diffuse idiopathic skeletal hyperostosis is a common condition that affects elderly individuals with a male predominance.
