Presentation

Non-traumatic origin of backache.

Patient Data

Age: 70 yrs
Gender: Male
Modality: X-ray

PBH ragioraph -  Right sided pelvic tilt. Post lameniectomy status at L4, L5 level.
Enthesophytes at iliac creast, ischial tuberosities.

Cervical spine lateral view radiograph - Osteopenia.
Ossification of anterior longitudinal ligament is noted from C2 to C7 levels.

Dorso-limbar spine lateral view radiograph -  Ostepenia. Post laminectomy status at L3, L4, L5 levels. Grade I anterior listhesis of L4 over L5. Soft tissue ossification at anterior aspect of vertebral bodies from D10 to L5 level. L4-L5, L5-S1 disc height reduction.

Case Discussion

Findings favour diffuse idiopathic skeletal hyperostosis - DISH.
