Case contributed by Ammar Haouimi
Diagnosis almost certain

Presentation

Progressive painless swelling of the left scapular region.

Patient Data

Age: 75 years
Gender: Female

There is a soft tissue mass centered on the left scapular and infrascapular regions with no bone lesion or endothoracic extension.

The MRI sequences demonstrate a lobulated soft tissue mass of the left scapular and infrascapular regions (measuring 110 x 95 x 50 mm) centered on the infraspinatus and teres minor and extending to the latissimus dorsi and teres major muscles. It elicits a low signal on T1, high signal on T2 with restricted diffusion and heterogeneous enhancement on post-contrast sequences. No endothoracic extension is seen.

Case Discussion

MRI features of soft tissue mass of the left scapular and infrascapular regions histologically proved as diffuse large B cell lymphoma.
