The pons is diffusely enlarged with flattening of the floor of the 4th ventricle, encasing the basilar artery, and obliterating the prepontine cistern. It shows a low signal intensity on T1WI, heterogeneously increased signal on T2WI/FLAIR with a dorsal area of a low signal on FLAIR sequence. On postcontrast sequences, there is a focal area with irregular heterogeneous enhancement within the dorsal portion of the tumor. Mild dilatation of the 3rd and lateral ventricle (mild obstructive hydrocephalus).
