An incidental finding during neck ultrasound.

Patient Data

Age: 30 years
Gender: Female
ultrasound

An extra band-like structure with muscle echopattern between the anterior bellies of right and left digastric muscles in the craniocaudal direction. The anterior bellies of both digastric muscles are normal. No lymphadenopathy locally.

Annotated image

An accessory muscle slip extending from the anterior belly of the right digastric muscle to the anterior belly of the left digastric muscle. It runs obliquely from right to left in the craniocaudal direction.
