Dilated cardiomyopathy with pulmonary oedema

10 year old female presenting with fatigue and acute shortness of breath.

enlarged cardiac silhouette, thickened horizontal fissure (fluid within) and bilateral symmetrical and mainly central air space opacity. Features of cardiac pulmonary edema. 

Case Discussion

Dilated cardiomyopathy with pulmonary oedema. There is pleural fluid within the horizontal fissure. Note the markedly distended azygous vein due to raised central venous pressure.
