Presentation

Left leg radiculopathy.

Patient Data

Age: 25
Gender: Male
mri

2.3 x 1.4 x 1.0 cm cyst within the left anterior epidural space at L4 related directly to the inferior aspect of the L3-4 intervertebral disc. This cyst contains a partial septation and has slightly increased T1 signal relative to CSF. It causes posterior displacement and impingement of the left L4 nerve root.    

Case Discussion

Typical appearance of a discal cyst causing left L4 nerve root compression. Young adult males are the usual demographic for this condition.
