Presentation

Persistent pain in the left knee joint without a history of trauma.

Patient Data

Age: 15 years
Gender: Female

There is an increased width of the lateral meniscal body, covering more than 80% of the lateral tibial plateau. The ratio of the minimal meniscal width to the maximal width of the entire tibial plateau is approximately 30%, indicating a complete discoid meniscus. A linear hyperintense signal is seen within the lateral meniscus on PDFS images, no definite extension to the articular surface (grade 2).

Case Discussion

The imaging findings are consistent with a complete discoid meniscus with abnormal meniscal signal intensity grade 2.
