Multiple left-sided fractures including posterior left 9, 10, 11, 12 ribs as well as left T9, T10, T11, L1, L2, L3, L4 and L5 transverse processes. The left 12th rib has dislocated at the costo-transverse joint and now sits anterior to its normal position.
Case Discussion
This is an unusual injury and reflects the large forces involved at the time of impact. Injuries in this location are often associated with renal trauma thus must be investigated further.
