Left hip pain.

Patient Data

Age: 60
Gender: Female
x-ray

Left hip total hip joint replacement is dislocated posteriorly. Right total hip joint replacement is enlocated. No fracture is identified. 

Case Discussion

Dislocation of hip joint replacements is not uncommon, occurring in 3-4% of patients. Hip joint dislocation not only causes pain and distress to patients but repeated dislocations can damage the prosthesis resulting in further instability.
