Presentation

Blow to the left eye and sudden blurred vision of the eye.

Age: 55 years

There is a left eye dislocated lens within posterior vitreous and preseptal soft tissue swelling. Note the large dense foreign bodies in the left side temporal and subtemporal fossa.

Case Discussion

The case is a 55-year-old male with a history of a blow to left eye and reddening of the eye and sudden blurred vision, suspected for ocular foreign body, requested non-contrast orbital MDCT and dislocated lens within posterior vitreous of the eye detected. Dense foreign bodies in the left temporal and subtemporal fossa are also seen.

Posteriorly dislocated lenses in most cases are managed with vitreoretinal surgery with good visual outcomes.
