There is an absence of normal distal biceps tendon at its location. There is a complete tear of the tendon from the insertion site at the radial tuberosity. The retracted tendon is about 50 mm away from the insertion site. There is a local fluid collection (about 15 x 15 mm) with echoes around the retracted distal biceps tendon.
The rest of the elbow examination was normal.
Case Discussion
Ultrasound findings indicate a distal biceps tendon rupture.
