Distal biceps tendinosis

Right handed male presented with a complaint of anterior right elbow pain for last 6 months. The patient was active in the gym for last 10 years which he stopped due to pain. He also played tennis for 10 years during his teens.

Patient Data

Age: 40 years
Gender: Male

The distal biceps tendon is intact. Medial fibers of tendon show ill-defined hypoechoic echo pattern along with tiny calcification foci. There is no fluid cleft within. There is no hypervascularity. Lateral fibers show normal echo pattern. There is no bicipito-radial bursal effusion. There is no elbow effusion. 

Case Discussion

Findings favour distal biceps tendinosis.
