Presentation

Direct trauma to the top of the right shoulder.

Patient Data

Age: 35 years
Gender: Male
  • minimally displaced fracture in the lateral third of the clavicle accompanied by bone marrow edema

  • mild capsular hypertrophy along with acromioclavicular joint

  • intact acromioclavicular and coracoclavicular ligaments

  • subacromial/subdeltoid bursal effusion

  • type II acromion

  • articular side partial tear along with supraspinatus tendon foot print posterior fibers and infraspinatous tendon mid to superior fibers

  • abnormal intrasubstance increased fluid signal along with the subscapularis tendon fibers related to tendinosis

Typical appearances of a distal clavicular fracture and classified as type B1 according to AO classification of clavicular fractures.
