Transverse extra-articular fracture through the shaft of the 1st phalanx with mild palmar displacement.

Case Discussion

Distal phalangeal thumb fractures are less common than those at the base of thumb. This case also demonstrates the importance of two views, with the fracture not really seen well on the frontal projection but clearly seen on the lateral projection.
